Cutting Pipe Spigot
Purpose: To demonstrate the proper position when cutting off the spigot end of a bell & spigot pipe. Make the cut to leave as much of the spigot end valley as possible on the leading pipe edge.
Method:
- Position the sawz-all as shown below. Note that the side of the rib should be used as a guide for the saw. However, be careful to not cut into the rib to minimize pipe separation.
- Cut the pipe straight, keeping the blade as close to the rib as possible.
- De-bur the pipe edge, the edge should be straight, and the valley should be as wide as possible.
