48 & 60 Die & Cool Plug Removal

What: A checklist to remove the die and cool plug for 48” & 60”

When: During diameter change

Why Use: To create a consistent process that covers necessary checks to ensure a speedy start-up

Keys: Install new gaskets & O-rings at every diameter change

Removal Steps

• Use the same steps as you would for 30, 36, and 42” die.

Specific Notes for the 48 and 60”

• 48 and 60 die change ON 60 “ when going to a smaller diameter remove the mold blocks first.
• When setting up 60” put die and cool plug on first.
• When pushing blocks out, push out 1 – 2 “ and measure top and bottom.
• If the measurement is the same, continue the process. If not adjust till they are.
• Care must be taken to make sure that the top and bottom measurement are the same.
