Corrugator Start-up Procedure

1.- Before Start up

  1. Check all heater bands and thermocouples make sure they are working properly.
  2. Check that all Heating Zones are up to temperature
  3. Check the die calipers lips, clean the calipers in case of finding dirty or damaged surfaces clean polish the calipers really well Copper mesh and Brass or Copper Scrapers, (DO NOT USE ANY METAL TOOL IN THIS PROCESS) metal tools will damage the calipers lips causing drag lines on the pipe.
  4. Check the cooling-plug surface, look for scratches, dirt and all other damages if you find scratches that could cause lines on the pipes report it to the supervisor.
  5. Check if the gap between the cooling plug and the inner caliper is clean and free of plastic debris.
  6. Check air and water systems look for water leaks, test Process air and cuff air to make sure is working and the air is flowing properly all around.
  7. Check mold block gaskets replace the damaged ones.
  8. Check before closing the molds if they are perfectly aligned top with bottom molds, run the Moldblocks around and see Amps, realign top and bottom molds if needed.
  9. Check the level of the die head and cooling plug, correct it if necessary.
  10. Check if the pumps are working
