Caliper Adjustment

Die sizes: 18” – 60”

This caliper adjustment can be done on any area of the caliper.

Standard gaps are set as: Inner wall = 1x wall thickness

Outer wall = 1.5x wall thickness

  1. Looking at mic sheet, determine which way the adjustment needs to be before starting and how much.
  2. If wall thickness is to small:
  3. Loosen short bolt on adjustment ring for caliper.
  4. Tighten long bolt on adjustment ring for caliper.
  5. Check gap with taper gauge.
  6. Repeat step a – c until desire gap is acquired.
  7. If wall thickness is to big:
  8. Loosen long bolt on adjustment ring for caliper.
  9. Tighten short bolt on adjustment ring for caliper.
  10. Check gap with taper gauge.
  11. Repeat step a – c until desire gap is acquired.

Note: When during caliper adjustments, you may have to loosen the adjustment bolts a little on the areas (both sides) next to the adjustment area you are adjusting.
