Die And Tube Adjustments

Tube Adjustment

Die sizes: All long dies, Outer Wall Only

This explanation will be for a mic that shows wall thickness is too thin on the bottom on the outer wall.

  1. Looking at mic sheet, determine which way the adjustment needs to be before starting and how much.
  2. Loosen bolts on ring in front of die stand two turns.
  3. Loosen the bolt on top, top vacuum side, and top operator side by 3 to 4 turns on the die stand.
  4. Check gap with taper gauge, tighten the bolt on bottom 1st one turn, then check gap with taper gauge again. Repeat step 4 until desire gap is acquired. (If bottom won’t turn anymore, repeat step 3 again)
  5. Tighten the top, then tighten both sides evenly, and then tighten the rest of the bolts on the caliper.
  6. Tighten the bolts on the ring in front of the die stand in a crisscross pattern.
  7. Purge and Start up line, do mic check as soon as possible and repeat steps if needed.
